Hi, I'm thirteen and i have had Brown discharge 3 times now, around January, in about May and now. Is this my period, because it is definatly brown, i know that it is not an infection for sure! As i have had it three times and they have only lasted a few days then stopped and returned to normal discharge. But this is the third time and was wondering if anyone else experienced this and if it is normal and how long it will be until my periods come?

Hi, don't worry about this. It is so-called "spotting" and can be the beginning of your period. It sometimes comes up as darkbrown or brown blood. This can even still appear years after having the regular period (sometims inbetween regular monthly bleedings). You are still young and your body needs to adjust to this new situation. Still, I would recommend you to go and see a gynaecologist, just to make sure everything is going alright.

Don't worry - this is NOT the wrong place to ask this question...that response came from a guy so enough said! It is likely that your period is on its way I would presume. Just let it take its time, because once you've got it there's no rest until your menopause! I remember wishing mine to come so I'd be more 'grown up' - but my God I was distraught when it did - it's an exciting time. You're becoming a woman!!

It sounds like it is likely your period and there is nothing to worry about....however, if it continues for a while longer, you may want to check in with your doctor to be sure....But like I said, I think ur just fine and u should not worry;)

This is the wrong place to be asking this question, however since you did I suggest you tell your parents so they can make an appointment for you to see a doctor.
