Men and Women can answer this question: What if your spouse hired a prostitute to have sex with him/her? Do you consider this cheating? Why or why not?

Cheating to me is being "intimate" with another person. That could mean passionate kissing, a long affair over the internet...and funny enough sex with another person, whoever they are, qualifies under the definition.

I don't think it matters if there are feelings there or not, it's still cheating - and still hurtful. It is saying that your spouse is not enough for you, that you need more.

I hate to disagree with most of the people on here, but....

It all depends on the marriage that you have. In most marriages there is a belief that once you are married then you are to only have relations with your spouse, if that is the case then yes it is cheating. However in today's world. There are more swingers out there than most people realize. If you and your spouse have an arrangement that any sex outside the marriage is OK as long as they know about it then it is not cheating.

Actually I'd be disgusted to find out my partner paid for sex. Just too many variables that make him appealing enough that he shouldn't have to hire a prostitute.
And yes its still cheating, if you can't tell your significant other what you are doing , because you know they'd be mad, then you are cheating.

Yes, because when you say spouse, both of you have undergone the sacrament of marriage. By doing so, you have promised to love one another and nobody else. (in a husband-wife way). Sex is something RIGHTFULLY done out of love and not out of lust. Though you may say that you don't love the prostitute, it is still wrong to hire one. I may be old-fashioned but I still believe in sticking to only one person. Sex is a very deceitful action and most of the time, doing it with the wrong person destroys trust among people.

This is a crazy question. Why would it make a difference if the person they are cheating with is getting paid? No matter who it is with, if you are doing something with someone else that is not your spouse, that they wouldn't approve of, its cheating.

I don't think its cheating, technically... but it's wrong. In that situation, it's like a business transactions and there's no emotional involvement. But it's wrong, because when the spouse finds out, they are going to be hurt...

anything you don't want your significant other finding out about is cheating. so in this case, yes, hiring a prostitute would be cheating.

Abosolutely - not to mention nasty! Beyond the cheating factor, if you're still intimate with your spouse, this could be dangerous as well! I would not allow such a thing.
