Animal manure from any animal. Chicken is high in nitrates. Cow is high in weed seeds. Some countries use human, diseases can be passed this way
Compost from kitchen waste, weeds, grass cuttings, etc.
Some plants are grown to enrich the soil and be plowed under. Legumes have nodules on their roots for nitrifying bacteria and are generally plowed under.
Some farms get materials left over from food industries such as the mash left from beer making, plant materials from canning and freezing processes.
Some farms get the liquid and solids from sewage treatment plants that do not have any industrial customers.
Farms along a river like the Nile depend o the annual flooding to bring nutrients to the soil.

Synthetic examples are nitrates, phosphates and potassium compounds purchased from the farm store as P K N in ratios of 10 10 10, or 10 15 20 for the type of crop.
