Can you tell me about it and what it means and what it means to you? Is it important for anything? It is just a peice of paper isn 't it? Does being the melding pot mean that we throw the constitution out the door and only do and say what is politically correct? Just asking what you think, honestly? Do we have any real and actual honesty in the United States anymore?

"Yes it does and works very well.
Just because it isn't going your way all the time doesn't mean it is broken. We still have elected officials and it does swing from one side to the other. The Constitution is about the will of the people not the latest polls. That is why we have a Representative republic so it isn't mob rule. I think you do need a course in Civics.""

You are contradictory and not quite bright here let me show you: ""The Constitution is about the will of the people"" then you said ""so it isn't mob rule"" that is what the king said let me rule you and if things aren't going your way to bad for you, the founders who made up the constitution were considered as a mob by the king! and the group of people might seem like a mob to those that don't like freedom? I think you need a civics lesson so I gave you a thumbs down that is a clear lesson that if you want to be an offensive smart aleck with me I have the same exact right with you! Checks and balances!

"If you really care about the Constitution you must vote for Conservative candidates, not just Republicans but real Conservatives. It is they who defend the Constitution. "

You are absolutely correct here, and there is a difference and we must have checks and balances, no more free ride because they have the money and the power words and votes may be all we have, but we still have them, they can't take that away unless they lock us up and yeah they doing that a lot to so that they can keep those that have a different voice quite, we are not letting the constitution rule our land any more and it isn't for all people is it? I do think we are still the land of the true and the brave!

"Since we have so many wackos in the judicial...you get things like gov. taking land...as some kind of "public good","

The gov. does take anyone's land they want to and does not discriminate, but I think they have to pay people a fair market price now! when they took my grandparents land they didn't have to pay at all just kick them off and build a road there

" the idea that a nativity scene on private property near a town hall is unconstitutional,"

this is an "idea", it is that when it is on "public" governmental property that it is objected to, not "private" property that's different, churches want gov. tax money, but don't want gov. to rule them.

"and the idea of pornography and child molestation" that is two different things pornography is not about molesting children it is about consenting adults! and child molestation has never been a protected thing except under certain religious doctrines, you need to check your facts!

2007-09-04 05:30:53 · update #3

pornography is not allowed in the town square at all, get your facts right, even adult book stores have a problem staying going because people don't want them up, so they are not protected although some adults want them they are censored by the masses where they may be in one state they will not be in another, and they should be given protected "expressions" for adults that want them,

You say "while reading the Bible in a town square is not.."" Lying must be! No one has ever asked me to stop reading a bible or praying no matter where I have done that at, no one has ever asked anyone to stop doing that around me, and no one has ever went to jail for forcing it on me or anyone else! So you need to get your facts straight!

Case precedents make sure that cases are fair, if we don't want certain laws then they should not be made in the first place, the Supreme court looks at and often throws out unfair laws, they don't make them, the legislators do.

The Constitution was and still should be the supreme law of the land. Most of our problems stem from the fact that it is not. Rule by precedent (started about the time Roosevelt (the Franklin one) was president) has acted as a jack which moves us away from the Constitution one ratchet-click at a time. That is why loss of property rights, personal liberties, and the loss of respect for the law has occurred. Rule by precedent is where a judge, in deciding a case, does not go back to the Constitution for guidance (as mandated in the Constitution) but instead goes back to what the last judge looking at a similar (sometimes) case has ruled. Since we have so many wackos in the judicial trades these days you get things like governments taking land from widows for huge casinos as some kind of "public good", the idea that a nativity scene on private property near a town hall is unconstitutional, and the idea of pornography and child molestation are protected "expressions" while reading the Bible in a town square is not.. I think the reason that so many on the left are so allergic to the Constitution is because it is a down to earth common sense document, and they are completely against these concepts.

I hear you. This is the most important document ever written in the entire world. It changed the entire planet. In fact it was painstakingly written and rewritten to be easily understood by anyone. If you enter a contract to finance a car you will have a more difficult time understanding that then the Constitution of the United States.

It was nearly perfect as written yet in their wisdom and foresight, the founders even provided the mechanism to am mend it. It has served us well for many, many generations.

That is until the Godforsaken Baby Boomers came along. I am a member of this awful generation. Many in my generation took advantage of the sheer numbers to arrogantly force their socialist will on the rest of society. Many are still in place as college professors and administrators still indoctrinating young minds in their narcissistic ways.

I'd rather be ruled by the constitution then a mob, a moral majority, or a king. Because the Constitution is not an infallible human who wants more money, or fame, or power, it cannot be corrupted or falsely persuaded. Long live the Constitution! We, the People, need to stand up for it more often.
