Hemalite (Hematite?) - used in Victorian jewelry
Quartz - used to keep time (vibrates with electric current)
Halite - rock salt, melts ice
Muscovite - used in many electrical components
Biotite - used in many electrical devices
Gypsum - in drywall, fertilizer, plaster
Calcite - antacids, animal feed, chemical industry
Fluorite - ceramics, toothpaste, plastics
Orthoclase - some glass, ceramic, porcelain, gemstone

Basically they are all gemstones.

Eric W is correct on most minerals except:

Talc - main cosmetic use is talcum powder
Magneite - Magnetite - important iron ore
Graphite - also used for making strong. light composite materials
Hematite - the most important iron ore
Quartz - also used in abrasives, and is one of the most
important components of building construction sand
Calcite - the main component of limestone. Used to make lime and most importantly, cement, as well as agricultural lime.
Azurite, an important copper ore
Galena - the most important lead ore.

Several of the minerals are used as gemstones, but most of them have other important uses.

Only know a few. Garnet: mostly in jewelry, Corundum: as an abrasive, Graphite: mostly in 'lead' pencils and also as an i.c. engine lubricant, Gypsum: in 'plaster' board for house walls and ceilings, Flourite: mostly added to house water supplies for helping reduce dental decay, also as a coating on photographic lenses.
