Look, ICC's the boss. It was their decision. They could even have made it 10/10 or 1/1 overs. We are nobodies, sadly

If you want to make it short, make it really short not half but less than that, that's what they did. Also you can see few of twenty20 rules are already adopted into one day cricket like increasing 15 overs limitations to 20 overs i.e. introduction of power plays and also to decide the legal match when it's interrupted by rain to 20 overs rather than earlier rule of 25 overs, by this rule i think we have had more results than useless no result.
btw. I love the Twenty20 logo, which is so catchy ;)

Due To the fact that 2020 is an already played format (such as the US cricket league) they probably did not want to make a whole new format for people to deal with so they took the relatively unknown 2020 fromat and made it into a world cup.
PS IM SORRY FOR EVERYONE ELSE BUT INDIA IZ GONNA PWN U ALL AT THE CUP DHONI!

Twenty20 matches are designed for pure entertainment, it requires strength rather than technique. But it is for certain that all will enjoy the game.

becasuse you need 20/20 vision to play.
real I don't know but they decided on 20 / 20. It takes less time and people can watch it after work.

it would be a shorter game then a 25 25 game .. that would mean more games in a single day .. so more media coverage and thus more revenue for ICC.
