Hetfield or Mustaine?
These two have been have been at each others throats for years, but things seem to have cooled off now.
But who's the best?........

Nobody gives Dave any credit. i know he is a pain in the ***, but we are talking about musical capability, not their ******* personalities. I love him as a guitarist, he has extreme technical proficiency and his blues inspired guitar style is really what makes him great . Ever heard the solos on holy wars , godamn!!!!. In terms of songwritng , have you heard peace sells , symphony of destruction , my darkest hour, **** that man is like a ******* poet. Besides he also helped metallica shape their early sound and paving the way for their
sucess.

they're both amazing, in my opinion. Hetfield b/c of Metallica and Mustaine b/c of Megadeth.
I'd consider Hetfield as the best in all categories though. The only thing where Mustaine outshines him is influence. Hetfield's only influence was kicking Mustaine out. Mustaine in turn, formed Megadeth, criticized Kerry King's sideband and eventually caused him to form Slayer.

James Hetfield all the way. There is no competition.
James is one of the best guitarists, songwriters(listen to unforgiven) and way more true metal than mustaine will ever be!!!!!

Guitarist? Mustaine; you try playing the verse riff to holy wars and singing at the same time then telling me that hetfield is better! Not to mention the fact that Mustaine helped write metallica's best material and his general guitar playng ability is so much greater.
Songwriter? Mustaine wrote all of Megadeth's songs on his own (only recently has that changed) Not to mention he helped write the best of Metallica's stuff.
Most Metal? Mustaine didn't sell out.
His singing voice may be incredibly annoying but Mustaine takes all three competitions.

Guitarist - Mustaine
Songwriter - Hetfield, up until Load, since then he's got suckier and suckier
Most Metal - Mustaine and then some. Hetfield strikes me as a nancy boy.

Mustaine is the best guitarist. The answer to any other questions as far as singing , songwriting , overall anything to do with anything ,probably even crossword puzzles , is Hetfield.

I'm with doomsdayjeezuz!!!
Mustaine was a big factor for Metallica!!!
If it wasnt for his addiction....we wouldnt be talking about this right about now. But life has its ups and downs!!

Old skool Metallica was awesome.
Then And Justice for All downhill since.
Mustaine has kept it a bit more metal that Hetfield.
Metallica now? Not so much. Hetfield sold out to MTV and radio.
