i know monkey business refers to drugs, but i've heard it in the tori amos song "bliss" ("i killed my monkey")and in r.williams song "me and my monkey". Any ideas?

There is the expression for masturbation "spanking the monkey" so it could refer to sex organs.

Also, nothing to do with those songs, a monkey is UK slang for £500

Usually they just say the Italian word for eggplant which is pronounced Moon-yon. I don't know how to spell the real word. Either way, it is a racist term.
