Tying it in with God is not a problem for me. The girl in the book is non-denominational and she is searching for a religion but never finds one. and I like that actually.

Well, I got it for my daughter and I wound up reading it again! I just gave it to her and I let her know about the old fashioned belted pads. We'll see how she likes it.

LOL - I remember that book...but didn't they still have maxi pads that attached to BELTS in that book? Those were out of commission in favor of "stickied" maxi pads and tampons by the time I even read that book....I doubt any girl would be caught dead with that book today...
Wasn't that the book where they went around saying, "I must, I must, I must increase my bust"? And why in hell didn't that work for me?!

Just a couple of weeks ago I recommended that same book to a teen who didn't know if her friend lied about having a period. No, I don't think it is outdated. I have even told my 10yo daughter about it as she is beginning puberty, the book is on a waiting list of girls at her school since they only have 3 copies of it and they are all checked out right now.

I read it when I was a teen as well, but last I heard I thought that book was banned from public schools.

I've never even heard of that book before until now.
Seriously - Periods, sex, and bras should never be tied with God. Buy a more up to date book, not one from the 70's.

Oh gosh, I'm 39 and I used to LOVE that book, lol.
"I must, I must, I must increase my bust..." I so remember my friends and I trying that out. For me, that exercise wasn't exactly helpful.
I don't find it dated at all.
