I've been on Microgynon 30 for 4 months now, I'm currently on my 7 days break and my periods are still really heavy and painful and I'm still getting really bad hormonal nausea. I asked my Dr last week what I should do and she said to keep trying with the pill. I think I need to try something else as I'm due to start my 5th pack on Friday so surely I should notice an effect by now?

Go back to your doctor before you're due to start your 5th pack and explain your situation and insist that they either prescribe another product.

It has been four months now - more than enough time for you to have started to see an effect. So if you haven't by now put your foot down. If that doesn't work than seek a second opinion.

At best it could just be that you need to try another product, at worst it could be that your heavy periods are the symptom of another problem.

I would recommend a change in birth control pill brands as well because yes you should have noticed an improvement already. I would get back in touch with your doctor this week to let them know that you would like to try a different brand to see if that helps. If she still won't change then I would recommend getting another opinion and preferably from someone that does not share the same office of the doctor you currently see.

Change your pill. Your doc is giving you rubbish advice. Go see another doctor.
