If you were a boss and one of your employees is not too punctual but performs excellently (knows and does the job very well), would you still fire him/her?

Punctuality is the key to time management. Time is an important resource. Experimental evidence shows, that the person who manages the resource of time well, also manages the other three resources of space, matter and energy well. But, one who fails to manage "either" of these resources well, fails to manage all the other resources, too (and vice versa)!

Punctuality is a very good trait and one I hold in high esteem--if I can not be to an appt on time I will call and I expect the same from others---otherwise I leave. And being Catholic I loved that Joke. Great!!!!

I have been dealing with this problem for so long that I have lost count! In the lab where I work, some of my students are very punctual and reliable, others consider the watch as an unwanted accessory.... I think I have lost my battle with them, I don't want my blood to boil!

I wouldn't fire them, unless they were slackers, and even so, I don't think I would have the guts to do so...

Punctuality is extremely important to me. If you make a committment to be somewhere at a certain time, and you fail to be there at the time you committed to, you have, in effect, lied to that person.

If I were an employer, one of the conditions of employment for my employees would be that they arrive at work at the time that they are scheduled to be there. When they accepted my employment, they promised that they would be on time.

Obviously things happen that are out of our control, and I would look at those instances on a case-by-case basis. But if I had an employee who either could not or would not get to work on time on a regular basis, then they have proven themselves untrustworthy and I would terminate their employment.

Punctuality is important to me, but a job well done is more important. Many of our best workers slide in at the last minute. I wish I could re-program their internal clocks.

It is extremely important to me, especially in the workplace. I would fire an employee, even a great one, for chronic lateness. It just isn't professional and not good to have an unreliable or unpredictably late person working for you.

i wont fire him but il give him a warning...
if im a boss, i shld b d most punctual person in d company

however, in reality, my boss is d last 2 arrive

Yes, I'd still fire them, well maybe I'd give them ONE warning, but I'm VERY punctual!!

In the business that I am in right now, No that person will still have a job. But this person will be punished for being late.
