My friend said he lost his library card, because they said he wasn't using the internet right. Do they monitor where everyone goes online?

He wanted me to go with him to use mine so he can get online there, so I'm just curious.

He's not allowed to use my computer, because he always puts viruses on it.

Thanks in advance.

Most do, if only to look at the logs. If your friend lost his card, then they obviously take an interest in where the patrons go.

If you do not trust your friend to use your computer, don't let him use your library card.
They will take yours away, too, based on where he goes using it.

Here are the steps to take:
1. What is the definition of right use of the computer in the library?
2. Follow the rule.
3. Monitoring of computer use in Public Libraries depends on the location and number of librarians of the library. Where is the library located?

Yeah, but how much depends on their staff. For a library with a large bank of computers to administer they probably just skim over the logs and caches looking for particularly notable stuff. For one that has only 3 or 4 computers they might watch a little bit more.

Bottom line is you can get away for awhile doing stuff, but eventually you will get caught. Also they tend to rely mostly on web blockers and computer lockdown techniques.
