Yes. I think that the teens of today have more knowledge (or maybe a better way to put it is they are more worldly). They are more mature, having been made to grow up too fast. Hence, they need to be held responsible for their actions.

I want to say YES. And this I think should apply world wide, NOT just one country. BUT I also believe that the seriousness of the crime should be taken into consideration. By this I mean as an example. If a RAPE or MURDER, or ROBBERY is committed, then YES AS AN Adult. I know that the person doing the crime is only a lid. BUT a KID has a mind (Brain) he/she DOES know right from wrong. If they choose wrong, OH WELL, he better hope the crime doesn't carry the death sentence. Now if it is one of those STUPID KID type crimes, like they painted the school overnight, or smashed some windows doing so just to be stupid kids, then OK charge them as kids BUT THEY ALSO MUST pay the time for their crime. If parent (not all) were doing their JOBS as parents then half of the stuff happening would NOT be happening.

Hi and good morning....I feel that it all depends on the crime that has been committed by the teen. How severe and how many priors this teen has had in the past years. I hate to see any teen or adolescence in a juvenile facility but if it comes to that point then it's the individuals fault for their own actions. As to teens being charged as an adult, as I stated before, I feel that it all depends on the crime itself for instance: 1) committing a murder that was intentional or premeditated. 2) Excessive theft or robbery that is a felony. If the courts have tried every other means in getting this teen help and the parents then the courts should have the decision on trying the teen as an adult. Good luck on your school assignment and have a great day!

definite. in spite of the country. i think of that if a guy or woman over the age of 13 commits a homicide or an tried homicide they must be tried as an person. They be attentive to that's incorrect. did you be attentive to that for the time of a few South American international locations they have toddlers hitmen? In some south American international locations, people who're in touch with heavy crime, employ underage childrens to kill/homicide the individuals who they decide for killed for in spite of reaosn. reason being is because of the fact the childrens are genereally out reformatory in under a year and make a ton of money for the crime they committed. How poor is that? So via the age of 17 some toddlers down there have killed better than 5 human beings and are sitting on stacks of money. How unlucky. They be attentive to precise from incorrect and that they nonetheless try this. stable luck which contain your assigment and that i wish you locate what you're in seek of!

There has to be a better answer than just yes or no. I see both sides of the argument. Murder aside because we should all know it's wrong to kill another human being. But when it comes to smaller crimes. Sometimes as a teenager or even early 20's you think your invincable and don't know exactly how your actions are.

I think once they are 15 years old or more, yes they should be tried that way. I think waiting till 18 to be considered as an adult is not realistically good.

No. The circumstances and consequences of crime are different for adults(most) and children, and I think that this should be taken into consideration when taking children to trial for serious offences.
As well, what purpose is served. Justice or is it some fear of these children?

I'm in the UK and I have to say I think they should be tried as adults. They commit these horrendous crimes knowing that they are going to be treated with leniency and in my opinion it really isn't a deterrent, it really is about time the judicial system was brought up to date.
