I am 20 years old and the last time I had sex, it hurt so bad (right by my left hip) that i almost passed out. i don't know what it is and someone told me that it may be ovulation. i just want to know why it would hurt so bad all of a sudden after being sexually active for 3 years? And if it is ovulation why after 7 years of having a period, and can it be serious?

This happened to me once, and it turned out to be an ovarian cyst.. You Might have a cyst - they're not uncommon at all, and can be treated with something as easy as birth control.

But, I would see a gyn if I were you. Just to make sure, because words on a screen don't replace a doctors advice.

Feel better soon :)

I have similar issues and I'm a 40 year old woman. I had Pelvic Inflammatory Disease a couple of years ago. I also have ovarian cysts and endometriosis, both of which can cause pain. Going to your OB/GYN would be your best bet because there could be a variety of reasons that you're having this pain. Usually, a pelvic ultrasound can give pretty good results. Good luck!

it's an infection. Get yourself and your partner tested. The other thing may be a cysts, or a fibroma.

Painful sex can be a symptom of endometriosis which left untreated can cause pretty serious pain. I would recommend seeing your doctor for further evaluation.
