i'm engaged at the moment so i hope that's not true, i don't want my marriage to be a sentence.

I do yes during marriage people say this, not the longest, because if you think about it a liftetime isnt really that long is it? before you know you die,
So i would say its a manipulative way of stoping people getting married so they dont have children, and the human population is controlled,
Thats what they promote in the public media etc.

Haha.. yes after you say "I do" you're cursed till death does you part :p
Btw, it's only in the WEST where marriage isn't viewed as a life time commitment anymore...... 1 out of 2 marriages break up in divorce..

I guess it could be viewed that way... but it is rare that anyone really views marriage as a lifetime commitment anymore...
