That link should answer your question.......
I also would like to say.. Freeware should only be used as a last resort.
Paid-Versions always will provide better detection, higher quality service etc.
You will never get that with freeware.

Why pay, there are plenty of good ones for free, mcafee is not actually that good, but if you like it you can get a free special version from aol, just search it. or my other 2 choices would be avira anti virus which is free and very good or avast, which is also very very good, you will need to install a firewall however and for that i would suggest 1st Comodo firewall, it is free for life and probably the best one out there, my second choice would be zone alarm basic firewall, which again is free for life. you will also need a program for spyware/adware and i would suggest Lavasoft se personal for that, very good and free, i would also run spybot search and destroy with it, again free and very good, just update them on a regular basis and bobs your uncle, should then have a very well protcted box.

Why are you paying money when there are very very good free anti virus programs.
AVG and AVAST rate in the top 10 along side of McAfee.
I have been using AVAST on Vista now since Vista came out and it works very well. I am using AVG Free on my XP machine and have never had a virus stick around for long.
