I auditioned fore both MUN (Model United Nations) and for the high school play, Pride and Prejudice. Made it both but can't do both! My mom wants me to do MUN and the role in the play is a small one but still I LOVE drama...I'm really confused on what I should do.

Both are really good experiences. I would say that if you've never done model UN to do it now, becuase it's probably youre only opportunity, while with acting, there's always going to be another play. I've done model UN for the past 5 years and plan on doing it again this year hopefully as attourney general and I wouldn't miss it for the world, but that's just because I value an open mind and I value people experiencing other countries. However, if that thought pains you, then by all means do the play. Choose on what you want to do. if you hear that this is your last chance to do MUN and you don't care then please do the play. I would hate to have you be another body at MUN who just sits there and listens the entire time, not speaking or asking questions. If you choose to do MUN you need to be absolutely committed to it. Otherwise, it's silly to even waste your time. So choose whichever one you would be more committed to. Because in the end, whichever you'd be more committed to would give you so much more in return than doing something half ***.
I hope my ranting helps you. Oh and if you're in GA1 it's probably better to do the play. Now it if was security council, I would pummle you if you did not do MUN. EcoSoc is fun though.

The Model United Nations would probably look good on your college applications, which is probably why your mother would prefer that you do that.

Are you absolutely sure you cannot do both? Because there is a consequence of dropping out of the play that you might not have considered--- your drama teacher will never forget casting you in a role, only to find that you weren't committed to doing the play after all. It might be difficult for you to be taken seriously at auditions for the next play.

I think you should do the MUN thing, if you can't do both. Modelling is sort of like acting and drama in a sense...you'd proabably get more out of the modelling than in your school play.

you know it's up to you decide what your heart tell you or what your inside feeling tells you maybe you want to make your mama happy but she will be happy only when you are happy & i think you'll be happy if you choose what you realy want ! don't you think?
