Entertainment is the answer to thoughtlessness and therefor has purpose. Boredom is the failure in the spirit to produce a thought worth doing, purpose. The only connection is the spirit.

The Will is positive, the Judgment is negative.

Entertainment is one answer to boredom. It is enjoyable and whimsical. There is nothing wrong with this.

There are, of course, a plethora of choices one can pick if boredom is overbearing.

Instead of being passive, as entertainment is an example of, one can become active and engage in an activity. This can be physical. It can be mental. Both forms are stimulating.

Hi,
One answer yes, but there are many remedies to boredom. The main one: to keep yourself occupied! Find things of interest to do: start a new hobby, paint, write a poem, decorate the house, dig the garden, visit elderly relatives, volunteer to help the sick and needy. Being of service to others is a great way to combat boredom and to feel as if you're doing something worthwhile with your free time.

Even entertainment can get boring if we are not really longing for it. The answer to boredom is twofold.... a change of repetitive routine on the one hand and on the other, a reasonably intense longing for something that can be hooked on to as the change of routine.
