No, it does not sound silly. It is actually one of the few professions where you can actually make a difference. But unfortunately, it is assosciated with being poor, and your parents may think you're silly if you want to be one.

It doesn`t sound at all silly: teaching is a very important job, and if do succeed, then you will be contributing a lot to the society in which we live. It`s demanding, very hard work, and the material rewards are poor, but the job satisfaction is immense. We all suffer from lack of motivation at times, and our results are not always as good as we would like. I think that you`re just going through a poor phase in your life, and it will pass. Best of luck with whatever you decide to do.

Will it's not silly to want to be a teacher even if you don't think you have the grades for it. Being a teacher doesn't mean you have to have perfect grades and since now a days there is a high demands for teachers and they created some programs for people to be student teacher assistant to train people to be teachers even if you don't have the grades. You get college credits and get paid but not a lot. but hey it gives you a better chance to be a teacher to work with a real teacher.

I love this question because it really hits close to home with me. For my entire school career, I barely squeeked by with a measly 0.45 GPA. All of my teachers were baffled, as this was a very poor representation of my intelligence.
The thing with me is, I love to learn, but I hate to be taught. I'm a self-learner, I learn through experience.
At present time, I'm an aspiring entrepreneur. I am currently developing a business system for an online dating site which is only the beginning of my future endeavors.
The point I'm trying to make is, dreaming big is by no means a sin.

i used to be a teacher...and no its not silly...it's one of the best professions around...why? because you can really make a difference in a student's life. my sister is a college instructor (mass communication)...and she's one of the best...she's strict...she's firm...she's got high standards...and she's tried them all. A lot of students try to avoid her classes but sorry...they cant. They all get angry at her as she really makes their head hurt with the requirements...but when they get jobs...many, who could, would go back and thank her as she has prepared them for the pressures of the real world. Now that's making a difference.

Teaching is like leadership quality of character, you need to be a focused follower, and gather the good and admired quality of those that are in leadership now, and make them your own, with the altered variation that your own unique experience puts in to an accomplished leader, or teacher.

No it does not sound silly at all . You may go into many fields of endeavor with such a degree besides just teaching .
Don't lose enthusiasm.
