I just recenly entered a very demanding academic program at a gov college and I have constantly heard this, how do I apply it without failing?

You need to learn how to sift out the dross and just read the necessary sections. Why they can't make text books with just the necessary info in I don't know.

There are two ways of learning
1- The hard way
2- The smart way
If you read all you r going hard way. Try distinguising discussing peer group help thats smart way.

learn to skim things, pick out the important parts.
