This is a great move for our President to go into the war zone to enforce the message to the American people that the surge is working and to encourage the troops! Your thoughts?

Edit: To Eric H- Are you advocating and encouraging the assasination of the President of the United States? You should be shot for treason.

Edit: To Duriel- That number is completely unfounded in fact and is greatly exagerated. I'd be interested in where you got that number. Try again.

Yes, and of course as our chief I did worry about his safety. I am glad we have such a wonderful man for our president and I am sure the troops were happy knowing that he is with them and supports their efforts 100% It is terrible what some say to diminish our troops morale and do not look at the good works of President Bush. Of course those are probably the people who think I should pay for their health care too. But that's another story. Nuff said.

You wish he got shot, Eric? Think about what you just said, man. THINK. You're wishing physical harm on the President of the United States in a public forum. That is speech that is not protected by the First Amendment. You'll be lucky if all you get for that is reported. If a Secret Service Agent saw your post... well... THINK about it.

People on this forum either don't think before they speak, or they don't have the brains to understand the gravity of things they say.

Aside from the legal ramifications, let me get this straight. You're so blind in your hatred for the man and you're so "peace-loving" by hating this war and all that led to it and all it stands for that you'd advocate violence to bring an end to it. Am I reading you correctly? THINK, MAN, PLEASE.

Having said that, I can't find a question here to answer.

Tosisajoke - I spent an entire semester of college studying the First Amendment, and I got a good grade because I listened to the professor and read the material. Which one of us needs an education? Can you say Clear And Present Danger?

And to my friend Letfreedomring - Who said anything about us being "watched" by all these agencies on here, except you? I was SUPPOSING that a Secret Service agent see this inflammatory post, and wondering aloud what would happen. How paranoid are you, exactly?

What??? Clear and Present Danger is not real, it's a MOVIE??? I'm not going to cut and paste the Clear And Present Danger section of the First Amendment here because it would take up too much space. Google the First Amendment and read the section entitled Clear And Present Danger, then tell me it's a movie. And you have the nerve to call me undeucated?

All right, last bit of discussion with Tosisajoke - for one thing, can you find anywhere in my post where I said I support Bush or the war? I part with him on the war and a whole list of other things, but that does not mean I'm turning my back on being a Republican. And as far as my mention of the Secret Service, see my passage above to Ms. Letfreedomring. All I said was that IF a Secret Service Agent were to see that post from someone wishing the President were shot, it would touch a nerve. (And you damn well know it.)

OKAY, I'LL ANSWER THE QUESTION, TOSISAJOKE. BECAUSE I DON'T KNOW THEIR PHONE NUMBER. DAMMIT! IS THAT THE RESPONSE YOU'RE LOOKING FOR? I MADE A SUPPOSITION ABOUT WHAT MIGHT HAPPEN IF A SECRET SERVICE AGENT SAW THE POST. IT HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH ME THREATENING TO CONTACT THE SECRET SERVICE MYSELF. IT HAD TO DO WITH POINTING OUT THAT THIS KID COULD GET HIMSELF INTO TROUBLE MAKING POSTS LIKE THAT. I... NEVER... INTENDED... TO... REPORT... HIM... TO... ANYONE... MYSELF. IF I COULD TYPE IN SIGN LANGUAGE, I'D TRY THAT IF I THOUGHT IT WOULD GET THROUGH TO YOU. IF THAT IS NOT ENOUGH OF AN ASWER FOR YOU, THEN I GIVE UP. YOU WIN. I'M AN IDIOT.

The Comander in Chief is doing exactly what a great leader does...goes to shore up the moral of his troops and thank them. It's tough enough flying all the way to Australia but for him to add Iraq to his stop list is commendable. I love this guy!

I'm not a Democrat or a liberal but Bush is a horrible commander in chief. We have marines on trial for doing their job and killing the enemy and Bush doesn't say stand up and say enough is enough. Bush has the troops fighting with one arm tied behind their backs which is why he can't win the war. The marines aren't allowed to shoot the enemy without consulting a manual. If they kill the enemy there's a chance they will be prosecuted, if they follow the "rules of engagement" they will end up dead. I'd expect this kind of disrespect for our military from a radical leftest but not from a man who calls himself a conservative Republican and a "war president".

By not stopping the trials, it's as if he is the one doing the prosecuting. He's the president, the buck stops there. It's the same with the two border patrol agents, Ramos and Compean, who were put in jail for shooting a drug smuggling illegal alien. The drug smuggler wins millions of dollars from United States taxpayers and goes free and the men who were risking their lives to protect us go to jail for 10 and 11 years.

If George Bush was president during WWII, you would be speaking German. George Bush going to Iraq and talking to our troops means nothing.

right this is yet in any different case of finding at Purgatory. An analogy which will supply help to handle what we propose via Purgatory is the perception that the "fire" of Purgatory is truly the affection of God. certainly, correct understood, the "fire" of Purgatory, the "fire" of Hell, and the "fire" of Heaven (for the OT speaks of Heaven as a "fiery" place incredibly many times) is all, in fact, the comparable fire, it is the burning and unquenchable Love of Almighty God. And, based on the disposition of a soul on the time of dying, while each little thing else different than God is stripped faraway from them, the soul will the two be tormented via this "fire" (i.e., Hell because of the fact the soul needs no longer something to do with God), or he would be purged of lingering sin via this "fire" (Purgatory), or he would be waiting to unite with the "fire" itself (Heaven), considering the two the soul and the fire proportion a straight forward Nature (2 Peter one million:4)--it is, the soul has already been converted right into a picture of Christ (a saint) previous to dying. So, truly relies upon on the soul's disposition. Or, seem at it this way: If somebody is asleep in a depressing room, and somebody unexpectedly throws open the curtains to bare a extraordinary, sunny day, and if the guy has had a sturdy evening's sleep, and is in a position to awaken, he would be waiting to open his eyes and greet the morning solar without situation (i.e., Heaven). besides the fact that, if the guy is laid low with a terrible dangle-over and has had little or no sleep in any respect, he will conceal his face below the blankets and decide for no longer something to do with the solar (i.e., Hell). besides the fact that, if he's purely a splash hung-over, or nonetheless a splash sleepy, he would be waiting to open his eyes particularly—to tentatively seem on the solar, as he struggles to acclimate to the morning solar (i.e., Purgatory). In essence, that's all Catholicism is asserting with regard to the Afterlife, while a Christian finally sees the main suitable actuality, it is God. in the event that they think of roughly it, a Protestant does not have confidence in a distinctive way in any respect. God Bless Robin

Your a good man. And this makes you an easy target for the corrupt government regimes and their trash talk. Whatever Bush says isn't supposed to be true. Its a very well known fact that Iraq was attacked to gratify Bush Sr.'s ego and also to shoot up the profits of companies like Halliburton.

Since the past 4 yrs, the world knows that there are NO WMD's in Iraq. Then why is the US still unjustly occupying Iraq?

Make it a point to read the following answer given by 'Rock'. It nails all the false claims made by the US to stay in Iraq - http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20070728093317AA98S04

compared to a personal maneuver of command and conquer i think he's got it going on finally.
the britts have the right idea too !
so both moves at the same time?you think there may have a piece of collaboration going on !
where should i hide ? wow ,how about right in plain sight.
Bush has even announced plans and acted on them and all they could do was retaliate in anger when "we" felt sorry for them .
this act should prove an interest.
Iraqis wont forget who's on their side!

Not only was it a smart move on his part, but it was interesting to see how many of the soldiers were welcoming him.

I think that those who never voted for him in the first place will continue in their blind hatred for the man.

To letfreedomring, it is also wrong to say "bomb" in an airport. Has nothing to do with the Bush admin. You just simply don't "hope people will get shot" in public places. That rule is much much older than the Bush admin. I'm assuming you are very young and ignorant of this fact.

Bush went to Iraq because of the dismal past few months he's had at home. His poll numbers are in the toilet and a trip like this usually gives him a "dead cat bounce"

Additionally I think we all recall that "dubya" went to Iraq about three years ago to serve turkey on Thanksgiving. His antics then did nothing to shorten the war and this trip will not provide any meaningful changes.

Its politics, pure and simple.... oops, better leave the "pure" part out.

I think it's a great idea. Kind of overdue, but I know that most of the soldiers there are tired of the crap they hear about going on over here and could use the reinforcement.
