ok, me again, i've moved out of an apartment and it needs to be cleaned to get the bond back, I've hired a professional, but he wants me to pay now, then he clean. We're meeting at my unit so he can have a look around.
what rang alarm bells with me is the 'pay now, clean later' I'm afraid I might be cheated out of money, is it normal for moving out cleaners to ask for payment up front?

It's common to pay AFTER the job is done since this type of work does not require a significant investment on the part of the contractor. If he wants to be paid up front, offer no more than 10% up front with the balance upon a successful inspection by the landlord.
