I search some website and they said Pluto from the milkyway doesn't exist. Is it true anyway? Yes or No?

It exists, it's just not considered a planet anymore.

Yes Pluto still exists its just not classified as a planet any more its current classification is a dwarf planet, the reason being is because they recently found many trans Neptunian objects that are the same size if not bigger than Pluto, I think it was a good decision for the astronomers to make, at the equator Pluto is about half the width of the United States!

Pluto is still there. It is the "former planet", the 9th one out, and is still circling the sun.

Last year, astronomers worked on refining definitions for space objects. Many had thought Pluto should never have been listed as a planet, that it was too small. In the end, the refined definition of "planet" was large enough that Pluto didn't qualify.

So, you probably saw something simply refering it to that. Look up an "official" list of planets, it is no longer there, but the big hunk of rock going round and round is still out there.

The Milky Way is our galaxy which has about 300 billion stars. One of those stars is called the Sun and it has a solar system - a system of planets, asteroids, moons, comets, balls of ice, rocks etc etc etc orbiting it. One of those rocky lumps is Pluto and it has two moons.

When it was discovered in 1930 it was given the status of a planet even though it was somewhat odd compared with the other planets. Since then various other objects have been discovered orbiting the Sun, at least one of which is bigger than Pluto. Astronomers were asked recently either to class these objects as planets or to downgrade Pluto. A small majority of conservatives won and Pluto and the other objects were declared to be dwarf planets.

As far as I am concerned it has been a planet all my life and I'm not going to change because a few astronomers are too scared to add to the number of planets.

Hi,

Pluto most assuredly still exists, and in fact there is a NASA unmanned probe on its way to Pluto which will get to the former planet in the 2010s. Could you give us the name of the website that says Pluto no longer exists?

James :-)

im not a scientist nor an astronomist but i am pretty sure that pluto exists..it just isnt pluto anymore, i guess. it was only taken off the list of planets because it didnt fit the exact description of what a planet is. it as a body of mass still exists as far as i know.

Sure it does. A spacecraft is due to arrive there in 2015. It better be there when it arrives or there will be a lot of angry people at NASA! Planets...ahem!...dwarf planets don't just disappear.
