"mother nature" is an allegory, so there is no "owner" although humans -especially industrialists- believe they own Earth and nature altogether.
Now the other part of your question: if -I say if- there was a God then that god would certainly not give any "power of attorney" to anybody, and certainly not humans who only can destroy his creation.
Attached, reference to one of the good artworks on the subject (allegory).

Mother Nature is the essence of all laws that explain and govern the existence of all that is. It is everything that is and it is every part of everything that is. It is therefore everything, including evertyhing that either is or is not because one whole in the sum of one and null (1+0). Bear in mind that there may be a multiplicity of things that are not and yet are (possibly on other planes of existence).

To assume that this planet is an object not a living creature is astounding. To further think that we were plunked here by some nebulous 'God' is a strange point of view. 'God' doesn't nurture us, earth does, 'God' doesn't display endless variations of life, earth does, 'God' as a non-physical entity, has no real meaning, earth is present always. Religion needs to rethink its position of who and what God is. I think we're living on her/him/it. We own what we are, as we destroy our planet, so we destroy ourselves.

I do not know mother nature.
I do know of a creator of all things upon the earth.
The creator gave us the use of him wonderful creation as our home, we were to care for and use.
But we abused our inheritance and now it has been taken away from us and given to his son.
