Why can't they just let people believe what they want to believe. Converting is wrong, let people choose for themselves, stop shoving this crap down our throats. This goes to other religions too that try to convert people, its wrong.

if you want to get away from the religious crap why are you on R&S?
We really care enough about you to try to keep you out of hell and into a relationship with God Himself! He is real!

Because they truly believe that it is right, and they want to share that with all that they can. But if you decline- i don't think that they should continue. I hope no one is trying to shove anything down your throat- but if someone is actually badgering you- than tell them to stop. ( some people won't because they have this uncontrollable urge to get everyone to agree with them) but i think most people would stop. But, and i see this a lot on YA- don't ask debating questions if you don't want people telling you what they believe in. If your not ready for all the answers- than don't even bother asking the questions.

It is believed that people can "sense" things in others..... just as animals do in their human counterparts.
For example - Just like when you or others can tell or sense when someone is a "good or bad person" deep inside, OR "something is too good to be true, or not".
We all have inner guiding spirits that lead us down our "path" in life. In the movie Constantine (for example).... everyone is either a "Demon" OR an "Angel" on earth. One causes mischief, misery, unhappiness, uncares, & only serves the Dark Master. The other, is caring, protects, defends, & is loyal to the death, to serve each other & God.

I gather, that if YOU feel that YOU are being bombarded by people trying to pursuade or shove religious "crap" down YOUR throat.
It is ONLY because.... in the "great scheme of things" or aka... the Book Of Life......YOUR life is NOT going as it is supposed to... or as it was written.
Therefore, these people or "Angels" are trying to steer YOU on the proper setting..... to make things right.

p.s.
I recently for awhile was exactly in the same situation as you are describing. Then, I came to the "realization" mentioned
and turned things around..... NO ONE pushes religion on me anymore.... they don't have to.
I have never been more secure in my life. ┼
All the Catholic schools I went to growing up amount to 0 to my faith now, they don't hold a candle to it. I laugh at it. It's was a joke. ( I see now why God would not have allowed myself to try & become a priest back then )

when i was a little kid growing up going to church every sunday and i was told that the people that i loved were going to burn forever in the pits of hell unless they accepted jesus and became christians, it really had an effect. using fear is something that works well for governments and churches. getting followers to be afraid makes it easier to manipulate (er, i mean, LEAD) them.

at ten years old i was desperately praying that my best friend would go to church with me and become a christian, that it was up to me to 'win her to christ!'. when she did go with me once and then told me to NEVER ask her to go again, i was beyond devestated. not just cause my friend didn't want to hang out with me at church, but because now she was going to spend eternity with satan and we would forever be separated after we both died... maybe this is part of the reason christians agressively try and convert others.

but the bible, actually, jesus himself, tells his followers at the end of the book of matthew i believe, to spread the good news of jesus all over the earth, that it is their duty as christians to save souls. it has extended far beyond just missonaries and nagging friends/relatives/coworkers trying to convert folks, but people stand in street with signs that say the god hates homosexuals and those who self pleasure, and theives and liars and .. you get the point. evangelicals don't just preach to those in their social circles, but work dilligently to unseparate church and state - get money sent to fund faith based organizations, pass laws that promote their belief system, and claim that the united states is a christian nation, that the bible should be put back into schools, the ten commandments should be in courthouses, schools, etc. that creationism should be part of science curriculum, as should abstinance only education (funded by tax payers, most of whom are not christian and would never spend their money funding chrisitan institutions)...

i appreciate that jews don't attempt to convert anyone - being that they are the chosen people and all... nor do buddhists, or pagans... anyway. i really do beleive that the world would be a better, safer, more happy place if people did allow others to choose for themselves and ceased the preaching and forcing of religion on others. one particularly repulsive thing is that some impoverished people in the world are only given aid if they convert to christianity. i no longer wholeheartedly support, in mind and in money matters, so called "missionary" work. so much brainwashing at such a young age. so much recovery to still take place.

Shore up your defenses. Converting is right; it's the religion in question that is wrong. If you believe something, and feel it is important, and you care for others, you will teach.

It's up to you to develop concise and powerful arguments to shut them down, and hopefully at the same time teach them.

We must fight fire with fire.

Do you really feel that trying to EDUCATE someone on a different belief is wrong??? the more we all understand each other the easier it is to have compassion and have all the facts before we condemn something we know nothing about.. I think anyone who believes strongly in something would share that, especially if it has brought good things to their lives.

Why are they being drawn to you, or why are you always hanging around them? Most people don't have this problem, evidently they think you need help.

It is. I could care less if anyone believes as I do-- as long as thye don't attempt to force me, I'm good with them.

cuz it's their mission to save people from burning in hell. i wouldn't force my religion on someone, i don't like getting beliefs forced on me, but i wouldn't want you burning in hell either, they just believe that because christ told them to spread the news they need to spread it to everyone. unfortunately, some are just too stubborn to listen.
