i want to reformat my pc, but i don't have any back up devicefor my important files(dvd-rw,flash drive). can i connect my pc direct to my laptop and transfer the files to my laptop? pls hel me

Use a crossover cable or create a mini LAN with a crossover ethernet cable. You will have to do some network programming to make it work, but it isn't all that difficult.

i think u have to use some kind of cable and a special program that u can get from download.com and the cable has a usb jack on both ends
