Should a child as young as13 be allowed to take medication to stop the growth of breast or deepen their voice? Should they be allowed to dress as the oposite sex or should the parent forbid it till they are at least sixteen even though they are aware of the fact that their child feels stuck in the wrong body

the reason why i asked this question was because on tyra they had a girl who's mother let her take pills to stop the growth of breast and change her voice and allowed her to dress like a boy all at the age of 13

My thoughts are absolutely NOT! Puberty is way to volatile of a time for them to be making life changing decisions such as those. It would be totally irresponsible to do so, not to mention just plain wrong.

that is a tough answer,
here is what i think.
although i totally support homosexuality because i totally support any sexuality. i think that gender confusion can be described as "wrong" in genetic terms. but sometimes you cant change your mind at all. and there is no way around it. what i would do is talk to the kid about it and if you chose to forbid it explain why and what the person is meant to do (according to their gender).
we are what we are and you cant really change that. i would talk about all the ways people cope with this problem in the world, and also go over the direct ramifications of these choices and the way some people will judge them. only to make sure they aren't surprised about the way they are looked at. like i said you are what you are, but also sometimes mentally, you just are what you are and that might not be able to be changed either, so one might have to take steps to satisfy their mind over their body.
over all i would just be supportive. and make sure they didnt get depressed and turn to suicide. im sure there is a stat for that being a more common event in depressed confused kids.

I know there are people who believe they are the wrong sex but the sad truth is that they will never truly be a member of the sex they are desiring to be. I can tell you that a man who changes into a woman will never have periods, breast tenderness, or be able to have children. My husband gave some interesting insights on being a male that I never thought of. He wonders how these transgendered people will be able to achieve erections or even truly enjoy the type of sexual pleasure a male can achieve through ejaculations.

What a question.... How many parents do you think have even thought of a question like that?

Do husbands and wives have sit downs and come to an agreement on when their soon to be born son or daughter will be allowed to get a sex change?

I'd have to go with the disown option.

NO.
Not until they are an adult. A 13 year old is not able to make wise decisions or to comprehend lifelong consequenses.
