(9.52*10^4)*(2.77*10^-5)/(1.39*10^7)*(5.83*10^2)

First i did, (9.52*2.77)=26.37040*10^-1

then i did, (1.39*5.83)=8.10370*109

i dont know if im doing it right but can someone show me step by step how to solve this problem. thanks

you are on the right track Amy!

here is another way to do it:

rember you have the number parts and the powers of 10.
for the nuumerator:
(9.52*2.77)* (10^-1)=26.37040*10^-1
(1.39*5.83)* (10^9)=8.1037*10^9
then divide the answers to get:
0.325411
Next put this answer in the format of the numbers you were given (scientific notation) to get:

3.25411 * 10^-1

you are on the right track. now all you need to do is divide your first answer by your second and that will give you the final solution.
