would you register as something other than bi-partisan? Just curious as to how many people might have affiliations other than the two we're given.

I do not belong to either of the 2 major parties, but do not feel that it is right for those without a party affiliation to participate in the primaries. The primaries were set up to allow each party to pick their own candidates and should not be made open to all voters.

The system is messed up, but a better solution would be for all you voters without a party to join a minor party and give the big two some competition or at least a reason to clean up their act.

If we don't hold them accountable, they will try to get away with whatever they can

i think of this is a honest gadget. in any different case, all human beings could sign in as an "Independant" and that they conflict to sway the vote of the party they don't prefer to ascertain get elected. think of this. The Republican thinking varieties could sign in as Independants. whilst the primaries roll around, they could vote interior the Democratic widespread for the candidate they have been helpful that no you are able to vote for interior the final election (like Al Sharpton).

I think we might have slightly more people registered as Independents. I do not think, however, that it would make a noticeable difference as to the level of participation in primaries. Most people who are active enough to vote in primaries (which is an abysmally low number) tend to be consistent as far as party selection (even in state's without party registration such as Texas and Missouri) unless all of the interesting races are in one party.

Au contraire, it's incredibly easy to be independent seeing as how the two parties are so closely aligned.
Look at the corporate contributors!
Do you honestly see much change now that the Dems have the Congress?

We need third parties in this nation, and we need third parties to be allowed in the debates, not kept out by police action and unfair setups disguised as open debates!
Further, it would be ideal to have third party primaries as well, not to participate in the duopoly's game.
What are the two parties afraid of except to be exposed as the twin trunks from the same root!

Independents have no business voting in a primary unless they have independent candidates running. Primaries are party business and only registered members shoud be able to vote on their parties candidate.

Boy, that would be something. I personally think that independents should be able to vote in primaries but would have to choose the primary. Also, independents should be given the option to vote in different primaries (Presidential, Governor, Senator, etc.) of one party or many parties (should be up to the voter). Thanks!

it's kinda hard to be an independent seeing as how different the two parties are.

It'd SURE be nice! I'm one of those "Unaffiliated" voters- and it's a SHAME to be left out of the Primaries! :(
