Semper Fi is from the Marines. The entire word is 'Semper Fidelis' which is Latin and it means 'Always Faithful'. My daughter is a Marine. However, the phrase dates way back into the early 13th century where it is believed to have started. The Marines adopted it for their motto in 1883. Look at the site below.
