Before the whole health kick was going on many people ate at Mc Donald's. Now that we know it obviously not healthy some of us are staying away. Has this affected your decision to eat at fast food places?

I'm doing research on this...any opinions!

There are other options at McD's, the salads, fruit & yogurt parfait, apple slices & yogurt, lowfat milk. I guess they realized that if they wanted more moms to bring their kids, then they had to serve stuff that is more diet-friendly.

Never liked McDonalds or any other fast food places. I am from Europe, and coming here was an eye opener for me. Yes the food is fast, filling and cheap, but the way I felt afterwards was horrible. Especially if I ate a burger at Burger King. I could tase the hamburger after taste in my mouth for days at a time. I guess I did not needed to watch to news to tell me how bad fast food is really for you, instead I just look around me. All the overweight people in the US vs. Europe was enough of a wakeup call to keep me away from that stuff.

McDonald's does have some healthy choices. I do order the healthier items when I go there now. Such as the SW salad, or the grilled chicken classic without sauce. Even the kids meals offer apples and apple juice or milk. Although chicken nuggets are not the healthiest they are OK sometimes. I would say society makes me fell guilty for going there but if I want to I will, I just make better more informed choices.

Very few healthy foods can match the taste of fast food (such as quarter pounder with cheese or the Big Mac). However, due to health reasons, we have to moderate on it and not have it on a daily basis.

In trying to eat healthier myself I tend to stay away from all fast food places. I find it's easier to avoid temptation if I eat at places where the healthier options outnumber the unhealthy ones.

Yes. I still eat at McDonalds, and I still get the double quarter pounder and fries; i just don't do it as often as I used to. I go twice a month instead of twice a week.
