its called "Mannequin 2: On the Move"-released in 1991- it is the sequal to the first movie "Mannequin" by 20th Century Fox. ;)

It was the movie MANNEQUIN released in February 1987 starring Kim Catrall (Sex in the City) as the mannequin who comes alive in a department store and Andrew McCarthy as the store clerk who falls in love with her.

I'm not joking about this. There was a movie just like you're describing called "Mannequin." Check it out on-line at imdb and see if this is the movie you're thinking of.

...if you're talking VERY OLD movie, could you possibly be referring to the 1948 classic fantasy/comedy, starring Ava Gardner, and called "One Touch of Venus"??? I always thought that since this film also takes place in a department store, and involves a manniquin, or in this case, a statue, that the '80's film, "Manniquin" was inspired by "...Venus".
