well i have a weighted gpa of 3.3. i'm captain of the tennis team and have been on the tennis team for 3 years. I was in key club and tennis club for one year. and have an sat score of 1490. (not that great i know) but would i still be able to get into uci?

If this is 1490 out of 1600, maybe (although the GPA is pretty low), but not if it is out of 2400. Your best bet would be to go to a community college for a couple of years and transfer to UCI as a junior if your grades are strong.

If you go onto http://www.collegeboard.com, and search UCI, you will be able to see that you meet at least most of the requirements for acceptance. However, it would be nice if your SAT scores were slightly higher; how does taking it again sound? A score near 1600~1700 would put you in great stead. Other than that, since the college has an acceptance rate of 60% anyway, I think that with a good entrance essay, and a maintained GPA (Or better, if at all possible) would be great in supporting your case.
