Yes, it does snow in Seattle. It unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on how you look at it) rarely sticks. We'll get snow a lot of times where it never sticks to the ground at all or will stick just to the grassy areas and quickly melt away. Outside of the actual city, it snows and sticks a little bit more often.

Last year was really uncommon and we got snow and ice that were very unusual for the area and there were power outages for days for many people in the Puget Sound right around Christmas. It was really something!

It does, yes, but not as much as other areas in Washington. It's just as well, since the snowplows don't do a very good job salting or plowing, and drivers in this area can barely drive in the rain, let alone snow or ice. The climate in the greater Puget Sound area is just a bit too mild for it to snow too heavily or too often most of the time--to the point where the local TV stations will call it a snowstorm if one or two flakes are seen falling from the sky.

But on the average no it doesnt snow much there.

But man it rains there and I mean rain, I seen it rain there for 47 straight days once and it never stopped.

Not often and not much. My first winter here (1990) it snowed 13 inches in 8 hours and then a cold snap blew in and kept it on the ground for 3 weeks. That's pretty much unprecedented. More often we get one or two measurable snowfalls per winter and by measurable, I mean half an inch to an inch...

Yes, unfortunately we do get snow on occasion. I've seen it happen as early as November, or as late as April during the year.
