the mans sperm

The man.

If you want a genetic explanation:

The chromosomes that make you female are XX.
The chromosomes that make you male are XY.

When a baby is made, the woman always contributes an X chromosome to the baby. The man contributes either an X chromosome (making the baby a female) or a Y chromosome (making the baby a male).

Hope this helps!

It is the man who determines the sex but I've also heard that conditions in the woman's body can influence which sperm meet the egg and which don't. Male-bearing sperm swim faster but are more fragile so if they have to travel a greater distance, then the female bearing sperm are more likely to get to the egg. Another thing I've heard is that frequency of sexual activity also influences the likelihood of a particular gender occurring. Those who have infrequent sex are more likely to have girls than those who have it frequently. Again, it has to do with the fragility of the male bearing sperm.

The males sperm decides if the gender of the baby will be a male or female.
The mother contributes an X chromosome. The male will either contribute another X (which would make the baby a girl), or a Y (which would make the baby a boy).

The male. The actual male being cannot tell which one to reach the egg first obviously, but the male carries the female and male sperms. The female just provides the egg to be fertilized.

womens eggs are all x chromosomes. men have x and y sperm= if an x sperm fertilizes the egg you have a girl (XX) if a y sperm feritilizes the egg you have a boy (XY) so the male is responsible
