my best friend has had a bad day (he found out he has an s.t.d.) and he made me promise not to cut myself (and i broke it) and i have never lied to him and it worries him when i cut myself should i tell him

honesty is the best policy.
don't cut yourself. you'll realize once you grow up a little that it doesn't solve anything.

Well your friend will need a ton of support and make sure he sees a doctor.
Also, go see a Psychiatrist..this isn't meant as an offence, but cutting yourself gets to be an addiction which is never good. I say psychiatrist because they are free to go to and you should see one because people cut themselves when they have problems, and no one should put themselves through that pain.
Tell your friend. You are both obviously going through hard times, so you two can be symbiotic and go though it together. It's better than being alone...and it sounds like your friend really cares :)

I think that you are trying to get your friend's attention by cutting yourself. Don't you think that is selfish. Sounds like he already has enough problems right now. A good friend would be supportive, not try to worry their friend.

maybe you two should make a promise to each other that you both will take care of yourselves. you will stop or try to stop cutting and he can try to be better about his personal health also. then maybe you both can get some professional help and rely on each other as with a buddy system. if you both care about each other then you should honor each other's wishes of being healthier. please get help and take care.

Yes, tell him- he's your friend and doesn't like you cutting yourself- you need to seek help and think about his feelings.
