How long do you girls go in your heels (3-4 inches) before you get tired and have to take them off?

Here's why I want to know. My gf complains a lot about her feet hurting when she wears heels. I'm just tired of hearing her complain about it. So I said to her that I bet she couldnt go 8 hours straight without taking them off or complaining or sitting much. She said she could so we set up a harmless little bet.
If I win, she cant complain anymore for a month. And that I get to pick out some really sexy clothes she'll have to wear for me whenever I want.
If she wins, she wants me to wear heels for 8 hours so that I understand the pain, and I have to give her a foot massage every night for a month.

Now when I've asked about this, everyone is telling me I'm screwed because 8 hours is too short and that she'll easily win because she's been wearing heels for years. So I'm wondering how long you girls usually last and if I screwed up this bet... Because now I'm worried...

Yeah you screwed up. A determined woman is a victorious woman.

I can go two months and a day in heels.

Hi William, Next time you make a bet, you shouldn't say who has which side. But in this case it really doesn't matter, because you SO lose!! When we're in our 20's and 30's we can go at least 12 hours of working on our feet, and then go dancing till 2am. A couple drinks, and the shoes are the last thing we'll be thinking about! I live in Las Vegas, and a lot of blackjack dealers wear high heals, and they have to stand for 8 hours. Of course there are 15 minute breaks, and a 45 minute lunch. That might help your cause!! Your problem is where are you going to get a good, expensive pair of high heels that will be comfortable in your size??? A pair from Payless Shoe Source is quite different than a $300 pair from Saks! With heels you really get what you pay for. So maybe your gf will give you a break! I think 4 hours in a cheap pair, would be fair. And where are you going to walk around for 8 hours??! You're screwed, bud! Thanks for a fun question! Give that man a star! And Good luck, W.!! :D

She can probably make 8 hours easily. I've worn heels for Halloween. Mine were 3 1/2" high. I could go about an hour, maybe 2 before having to sit down and rest my feet. Not necessarily taking the shoes off (although that feels really good) but at least getting off my feet. They do hurt a lot (and I practiced wearing them first too). Your gf, having lots of practice, will make 8 hours I think (tired feet but she will make it). You, I doubt more than a couple of hours. Sorry bud.
If she's thinking of this and plans ahead, she'll go for the max (4") and ankle straps so you can't slip them off now and then.

Hey ~ I would think she will be able to make the 8 hours. Especially if she already does it but is just uncomfortable. I usually frequent about 8 to 9 hours a day at work in heels. But you have to remember that there are a lot of time I spend sitting down, so that helps :)

I hope you win and dont have to wear the heels, but if you do, I also hope that she picks a comfortable pair - and the not the ones she is having problems with :)

Good luck !!! You will have to update with your results as to what happened :)

I'm pretty sure you can wear them as long as you like but its better to switch them off and on. Mostly sports shoes, rarely heels. If you want to keep your feet pretty though I would suggest not wearing them all the time because you generally end up getting bunions on your feet which are unsightly. Bunions can be caused by overly tight shoes. and heels generally shape your feet into a point. I also added you a link about wearing high heels and back pain. According too the website, high heels don't actually cause back pain. It says though that: "So does this mean that we can all wear high heels with no ill-effect? Sadly not! Wearing high heels day in, day out, will cause shortening of the calf muscles, pressure over the front of the ankles, and cause flattening of the arch across the bridge of your foot – all of which can lead to chronic postural problems. Further to this, we can see problems with the large hip and buttock muscles which have to work overtime to maintain your upright stance against the strong forward pull of gravity placed upon your body from wearing heels. Over time, these muscles can go into chronic spasm and trap the sciatic nerve – resulting in the ever painful 'sciatica'."\

ur screwed...she can easily do it. I have to wear heels everyday and I am on my feet the majority of my work day, when I get home I complain that my feet hurt because they do, so it's not like she's making it up, you'll see I bet you that you wont last 1 hour. U can't possibly think you can do it seeing you probably have worn flat shoes everyday your entire life. Ur going to be begging her for a foot massage...u should have kept ur mouth shut on this one and just rubbed her feet.....good luck u will need it

I think you messed up. I could go all day in heels without much problem.

Even though they may give her some pain, She'll get through it.
