Yes! Hell yes! Absoulutely! Unequivocally!
The fact that it has EVER been in question makes me furious! (picture someone trying to tell some man -ANY man- what he can or can not do regarding HIS own body!)
The ONLY person who has the right to determine whether or not to carry a fetus to term is the woman who is pregnant.
I also think that when a man becomes pregnant, it will be his right to decide whether or not to carry to term.
Until then; not pregnant? No vote!
Thank you. Great question. (I get a little excited....)

The arguments are: Each person, including pregnant people, have the right to their own bodies and lives; illegalizing it causes the deaths and other harm to those who seek or get abortions illegally. Re your Additional -- that's not what you asked; now you're saying you want reasons women would choose terminating or carrying to term. NO the same question AT ALL as whether it should be legal or illegal. It's not true that EVERY woman has faced this decision, or even been pregnant, so doesn't understand in the way women who've experienced unwanted pregnancy do. You can't prevent people from answering your questions. But then, you don't have to take any given answer seriously. BTW, the majority opinion in the US supports women's right to choose.

No, no one should have the right to take a childs life.
No matter what you think at any stage of abortion you are killing a child, if you have an abortion you are ending a life that was supposed to be on this earth, your son that you killed could have been the President that would change our world for the better, but he lost that opportunity and the opportunity to live because you took it from him/her.

This is a very delicate issue. It is true that the embryo is inside the woman's womb, but this is the object of conception of two people and therefore the decision has to be a joint one, whenever possible. Abortion is a traumatic experience, as well as morally wrong, and should only be allowed in extreme cases. It is difficult to define when "life" exactly starts, but at the stage when abortion is normally performed (10-24 weeks), the embryo is pretty much alive...
However, in some parts of the world, it is taken very lightly and used almost as a contraception method (you'd be surprised to know that UK is one of these parts of the world, especially among teenagers). What is missing is a proper education on the matter from an early age.
So, answering your question, I think it should be a "couple" decision and not only up to the woman. As anything else that concerns the couple.

No, it is a womans right to not get pregnant, adopt the child out or give the child to the father if he will take it. If you don't want a baby, don't make a baby.
My sister was three weeks pregnant when her husband shot her in the stomache and killed the baby. She was devastated. Tell her it's not really a baby and doesn't count.
Many people would love to adopt a baby because they can't have one. Tell them a good excuse for abortion.
What if your parents had an abortion? You wouldn't even be here asking this question.
That is how I feel.

Just because you're a woman gives you the right to murder a helpless baby?
If it's ok to kill a defenseless baby, why isn't ok to kill anyone else who gets in the way of our plans?
Birth control begins before conception. It's that simple.
Give up 9 months of your "life" that your child may live a "lifetime". It's a no brainer.
Pregnant women should accept their womanhood and bring that baby to term and relinquish it for adoption if it doesn't fit into their plans. There are SOOO many childless couples who would bless birthmom to the ends of their days for giving them a child. And if you think they are happy about it, ask the adopted child if they would have preferred being aborted (murdered).
It is a real child, not a fetus, the word the pro abortionist spin doctors use to take the humanity out of it.

No, because it kills the baby, equivilent to having the baby and then killing it. The baby has rights too.
The woman has the responsibility to keep herself from becoming pregnant in the first place if she feels she isn't ready to have a kid or doesn't want one at all.
There are many couples out there who can't have kids and would love to adopt an infant.
As far as the 'what if the mom's life is in danger' exception. With the medical technology today, if the mom's life is in danger doctors can do an emergency c-section. Then both the mom and baby have a chance to live. Babies born at about 22 weeks have survived.

Yes, I believe abortion (AKA: murder of an unborn child) should be just as legal as the murder of anyone else! And the legal penalty should be just as lenient!
Edit: To those who have said it's a woman's right to abort because it's *her* body: the baby is *not* her body! Please note that everyone who has said abortion is OK, was *not*, herself or himself, aborted!

How would you feel if your parents had you aborted because "it just didnt fit into their plan"
Women can have all the rights they want to their own body, but not the rights to kill their child.

Of course it should be. Although many women would never have an abortion themselves, you can't make that decision for another woman. There are so many factors involved with the issue, and every case is different. The best decision for one woman is not going to be the best thing for every other woman.
