Do you raise your children to be the same? or do you let them experiment in the different cultural diversities? I am NOT picking on emos. I was a HIPPIE when I was young. Just curious.

i liked country and rock(hank jr.) Bob segar, journey, zztop, Reo speed wagon, Eagles i still wear my jeans and my t-shirts, i havn't changed alot, just alittle older and hopefully a little wiser, i find my kids have went through alot of stages but they like their jeans hank jr. bob segar and some of the rest, of course they have their own favorites as well, my son told me the other day (mom, you guys really did have some good music back in the day!) whenever they talk about my youth they say (back in the day) i find it quite funny

Not emo here. I'm still not sure what an emo is !
I was into jeans, Led Zepplin, and real rock music !
As a matter of fact, I still am ! (lol)
No, I do not raise my children to be the same as I
was, they are entitled to their own freedom of expression.
I thank God that they have good heads on their shoulders !

I think the original emo or goth might just be Ally Sheedy's Character in the breakfast club. I used to be kinda like her, but my mom never was--more like Molly Ringwald.
Children are better off exploring their individuality and participating in the family unit.

Back in the day there were only normal people and hippies. Them hippies ruined everything! They started the whole label thing and soon there were heavy metal guys, punks, and whatever, now you have emos, scene kids, skaterboys, and baggy pant wannabe gangstas. Dang them hippes, what did they have to do the for!!!

We had freaks when I was younger, later came Goths, and much later came emos
And I was not a classified person when I was younger, just myself and I am raising my kids to be just who they are also, no matter who that may be.

I had an emo phase that I went through, although we didn't call it that. Really, I think most kids go through it.
