I check it every 5 minutes or so, when I'm on the computer.

I check it all the time. Right now it's the best way to talk to my husband. I have to find out when he can call on the web cam, or if plans have changed.

i get alerted when something comes in
some times i am away from computers for a week or so ,
but when i get back I am on most of the time.

all the time, i have the yahoo tool bar and it had a little mail box icon and it lets me know whenever i have mail.
