Let your kids know you can not help them right now, and see if they can get a loan through school for anything they need. Their school financial offices can give them advice. Put your zip code into www.guidestar.org to find local social service agencies that may be able to help you. They may at least be able to help you with rent and utilities and usually groceries. Check with local churches too to see if they have funds that can help you. Take anything of value you have, like jewelry to a pawn shop and see if you can pawn it or sell it. Make a list of all your assets and all your debts. Get on the phone with your credit card companies and negotiate lower payments and lower interest rates. Check with your bank where you have your checking account to see if you can get advice or a short-term loan. Tell your landlord you're having a short-term crisis and see if he will let you pay on the fifteenth instead of the first, this one-time only. Sell what you can on eBay. Then figure out what went wrong and correct it: it might mean taking in a roommate, getting a cheaper place, selling your car or taking the bus, or getting a second job working nights or weekends. Good luck to you.

I don't know but I wish you luck!

In a pinch can you get a cash advance from your credit card...or a payday loan?
