Well, you dont really have to learn them as in read instructions. You just play around it and eventually you will know how to use it.
Of course there are times when you need special requirements which you aren't sure whether it is available in MS Office or whether it is doable. At those times, you just have to go online and search for a solution. MS Office also provide a built in help.

Hello bloketu27,
First off, there are no stupid questions. Most schools offer some kind of instruction in Microsoft Office. Stu_the_kilted posted a bunch of great suggestions. If I could add your local library as a great resource as well as a computer users group if you have one in your local area. Best of luck.

Microsoft office includes a lot of different programs. You might want to isolate the ones you really want to learn.. Heres a good tutorial series...that covers all of office..

GOOGLE for "omicrosoft office tutorial" or go to a bookshop and buy the "MS Office for Dummies" books
The dummies series of books are simply easy to use guides to help you.
best though, is to USE IT, and try it out, with a guide / book at your side.
You could also ask local colleges (especially small evening ones) if they do courses
