I have used water levels for about 30 years. Let me try to clarify and expand from what answers you were previously given. Get a milk jug and fill it about 2/3 full with water. Place some food coloring in the water and mix it thoroughly. Place the lid on the jug and cut an "X" through the lid. Insert clear tube into the jug all the way to the bottom of the jug and duct tape it in. Allow the water to run into the hose and actually let the bubbles to release out the open end of the tubing. Set the water line in the jug to the height you want to level your project to. As a previous answer told you, water seeks its own level. The water will rise to the same level as the waterline in the jug in the clear tubing. This will give you an accurate comparison point anywhere your tubing will reach.

After you set your waterline level, be sure not to let water run out the end of the tubing because this will obviously change the level of the water in the jug. As long as no water escapes, it is an accurate level. I put a valve on the end of my tubing and close it as I crawl to different points under the homes to avoid loosing water. You have to open up the valve to allow the water to accurately level again after you move the tubing. You cannot move the jug! Get enough tubing that you can reach everywhere you need to level without moving the jug.

If you need to add more water/dye because your hose is large or long go ahead and do so BEFORE you set your benchmark. You cannot add water after you start leveling because it will take everything out of wack. If you loose a fair amount of water, you are gonna have to start over to be accurate.

Commercial water levels are available at manufactured housing supply distributors. I have just given you the cheapest way to do it for a limited use basis.

Be sure you have gotten all of the air bubbles out of the line as they will also negatively affect the accuracy of the level.

I have used water levels to level manufactured homes for 30 years. If you are leveling a manufactured home, get a magnet bar and tape it to the end of the tubing. This will allow you to keep the tube on the frame of the home and makes leveling a breeze!

How To Make A Level

A length of clear hose. Water seeks it's own level so when held up against a surface, the water at the other end will be at the same height point, level.

Take a plastic water bottle and fill it halfway with water. Find a spot that you know is level and mark the outside of the bottle with a Sharpie.

Or go to Home Depot and buy a freakin' level.

The question is asking how many times louder the sound is at 1:00 than it is at 4:00. Divide the sound intensity at 1:00 by the intensity at 4:00 124dB divided by 100dB = 1.24 So at 1:00 the sound is 1.24 times more intense than at 4:00.

water container, hose, dye . Dye the water, Set the container on something, let water into hose, mark the hose same as container water level, run hose to whatever you are leveling, transfer the mark from the hose. Thats about it. You will have to have some way to insert the hose into the container. Temporarily, there is always duct tape.
