I am hoping someone has had a similar experience and can let me know this is normal........
I have always had VERY predictable periods. Always on time, I could guess the date within 2-3 days. Always last the same time, always the same type of cramping and ALWAYS the same flow.
Until now. I am now 32 and I just started my period almost a week early. That has NEVER happened. And usually my period is light the first day, then the next 2 days heavy then day 4 is very light until the end of day 4. Then I cramp really bad and bleed heavy for about an hour and my period is pretty much done after that. Just spotting for day 5. Well this time it was light day one. Then day 2 it became VERY VERY heavy. Way heavier than normal and has been heavy and a lot of cramping ever since. Also I am going on day 5 of constant heavy bleeding and cramping. and no sign of an end. This hasn't happened to me EVER. Any ideas? Anyone have this happen before? Maybe because I am getting older?

I am not suffering TOO much because I have 800MG Motrin. It is my best friend this time of month! I only suffer for maybe 30 min at a time. when I am waiting for the meds to kick in.

You need to get it checked out. I am 39 and haven't had any symptoms of menopause yet and none of my friends have either...NOT saying it couldn't be that. With that amount of bleeding it really needs to be checked out. HOWEVER, my mom firmly believes that every once in a while your body goes through a nautural "cleansing" with your period and that's why sometimes people have a heavier period. If it has been a while since you have been to the gyno, you should go though. Good luck.

Well, there had been cases of early menopause where the periods can be irregular before lessening and stopping... However, it can also mean that you are maybe having a fibroid or cyst in the uterine wall that causes these irregular menses...My advise is to see a doctor to determine the cause of this.....

I wouldn't figure it was your age, those changes don't start till you're over 40. I wouldn't worry about it now, if it happens again next month, then give the doc a call and maybe just talk to the nurse to see what she thinks, if she thinks you need to be seen.

Any chance of pregnancy? If so, you could be miscarrying.

Anything unusual in terms of length of your period, amount of flow or the way it looks should be reported to your doctor.

I like my career choice, too :)
Good luck.

When was your last exam? Could you be preg? I know my mom said when she was preg with my brother she had a heavy cycle at the beginning. You may want to go to the Dr.
