He took leave from work on oct.16 2007 and was terminated on jan.8 2007. after 7 years faithful work they fired him. he had to keep Cobra to see doctors, his life insurance was cancelled when he was seperated from the company. sadly my daddy died may18-2007. why fire a faiyhful employee?

While it was within their legal rights, it was an unethical thing to do. Unfortunately FMLA is only for 12 weeks, and illness or not they do not have to hold a job. I am sorry to hear about your dad. My mother in law was just diagnosed with Lymphoma last week so we will be going through all of the treatments with her.
