What if you are asked to do a extemporaneous speaking in class. And the topic is the proverb "look before you leap".
How will you discuss it?

Hmm... well, look before you leap basically means to know what you're getting yourself into before you do it. You can discuss how a lot of teens now a days will have sex with their boyfriend/girlfriend and don't realize the consequences of their actions, for example, getting pregnant. Another idea would be how people will often go on blind dates and not think things through, and could get a stalker or worse from it. Umm... another example could be marrying before you're really prepared, that's a big leap to take that you should study carefully before you take it. Some may think they're ready, but have they discussed with their partner their expectations? Love alone isn't enough to make the relationship work, you have to make sacrifices, you have to be willing to compromise... just think up things like that and you should be fine. I realize my topics aren't the most obvious choices but you were pretty vague with your question... heh.

Good luck!

Discuss based from your experiences. I think the meaning of that proverb is that we must make sure that before we make a leap or a decision we knew what will be the consequence or ready for whatever we will face when we touch the ground after a leap..

Goodluck... relax and think your are relating to a friend...extempo speech doesn't meant to be fully formal...you have to express what you know about the proverb and give certain examples that will help the listeners understand.

I would find a suitable analogy.

For the proverb "Look before you leap" I would choose a minefield.

"Life, my fellow combatants, is like a minefield. Who can tell me how we should proceed if and when we find ourselves in this predicament? (Wait for an answer) Yes, we should by all means "Look before we leap" or search the ground before we take any further steps. Is there anyone who has a better solution to this problem? (Wait for an answer) Okay, we shall now proceed to choose the safest path, and remember to follow in the footsteps of the person in front of you."

I'd be the type of guy who'd wear shades to class, and around my eyes have make up that looks like a balck eye, and when I took my shades off, I'd explain what I sghould have done was to look, and wht ahppened, and what it taught me....and as I wiped off the eye make up...I'd esplain the rewards of vbeing able to look first and then moving.
