Now that we have seen all the teams play what teams will have a chance to play for the title? My 5 are: usc (wait for a few tough teams then I will lock them in the top 5), Lsu, Ou (after seeing their quarterback I think they will be really good), fl (they still have allot to prove... I think they should be ranked 10 or 12th not 6), and prob wv to round out the top five. But I was pretty shocked after this first week....

After the first week I think we have more questions then answers but I think the Top 5 are pretty much the same except for Michigan...

1. USC: The defense looked good and the offense showed flashes at times with a bunch of young talented playmakers. Shouldn't really be tested until they come to Nebraska and play Cal. Their biggest question is can they find some consistent offensive playmakers? They looked good but not great against Idaho.

2. LSU: Their defense was mighty impressive. They gave up nothing on the ground and when you are forced to pass against them we all saw what can happen. Alot of those passes were forced though and Miss States Quarterback played a horrendous game. We'll see what they are made of against Virginia Tech. Their biggest question is can their running game step up and can their QB make the big play?

3. West Virginia: They walloped their oppenent and we all saw what the combination of Pat White, Steve Slaton, and Noel Devine can do. Their biggest question is can their defense give them enough big plays to beat Louisville, South Florida, and Rutgers? And can they stay healthy on offense?

4. Cal: Their offense looked crazy good against a pretty good Tennessee defense. There is no doubt they have the weapons to hang with USC; but their biggest question is can their defense make enough plays to allow for offensive mistakes? Tennessee doesn't have the best offense in the world and they ran over and through Cal all night long.

5. Florida: Florida's offense looks scary good. Tim Tebow is the perfect fit for Urban Meyers offense and they showed just a preview of things to come which will have SEC D-coordinators scratching their heads. Flordia's biggest questions are can they get enough production out of the D-Line...the secondary...and can Tebow stay healthy?

Next in line: 6. Oklahoma, 7. Georgia, 8. Louisville, 9. Wisconsin, 10. Georgia Tech, 11. Virginia Tech, 12. Rutgers 13. Texas, 14. Auburn, 15. Nebraska, 16. Ohio State, 17. UCLA, 18. Arkansas, 19. Penn State, 20. Tennessee 21. Bosie State, 22. Hawaii, 23. Texas A&M, 24. Texas Tech 25. Clemson

usc , florida , lsu , west virginia, cal

this is just the first week so im a little hesitant to call that a lock on anything. if florida beats lsu and wins the sec championship game they are headed for the title game. the only question is their defense after losing so many starters.
if nebraska beats USC this picture changes dramatically and suddenly they could pop into the picture about halfway through the season.
big ten teams arent up to it this year , the sec is strong again and the pac ten could get messy with cal and their fast offensive players.

My top 5 teams

1. USC they have offense and defense, plus a proven QB in John D. Booty.

2. LSU this team will win the SEC title game, what a great defense they have, but QB is suspect a little.

3. West V. This team got a great offense, starting with the dynamic duo of Pat White and Steve Slaton, but the defense need to improve.

4. Wisconsin A great power running team but the QB prove they can pass also.

5. OK I think the Sooners defense will carry them to the BIG 12 title game and beyond.

OU vs. LSU in a re-match of the 2003 title game. Damn! This one will be another home game for LSU just like last time! :(
