You already have a resource hog in Vista using loads of RAM. Norton is just as bad. Window's firewall is pretty much worthless.
May I recommend a good free firewall - Comodo?

Use norton Windows firewall is better than nothing but it is very easy for programs to put them self on the allow list. Sooner or later someone will find a way to hack it. Less people are trying to hack norton so it will be less likely to happen.

Windows firewall is included. You can only use one firewall.

If you want norton, then disable Windows or they will conflict

They have their pros and cons

Windows may be faster, since it is included
