My kid's are 13 and 15 and love dressing up and going door to door with their friends. I really don't mind it because they are good kids, help out with the younger kids in the neighborhood and it keeps them out of trouble (not that they would be IN trouble if they were'nt trick-or-treating). It seems like good, clean fun to me.

I think entering High School should be the final cut off for trick-or-treating. Many kids stop sooner than high school though and if that is what the child wants than that is fine, but I feel when the child enters high school you should tell them that they have had their fun, and bring an end to it. If you kid's still love dressing up consider a costume party with games and candy. You may also consider having the children or child dress up and pass out candy for the younger children in the community, of course saving a few pieces back for themselves as well :). Sending children door to door once they have reached high school age is a little much, and may offend some of the people handing out the candy, because whether your child genuinely loves it or not some kids just throw a sheet on and go to get candy.

Best of Luck!

I still go, but mostly because I take my three kids around. I was 18 or 19 before I think I remember not doing a trick or treat thing. Our church holds what is called a trunk or treat each year and some of the parents even go a round. I still dress up even thought I am not the one getting the candy anymore.

You're never to old to go Trick-or-Treating.
My kids are way older than yours, 18 and 21, and me and my boyfriend still get dressed and go out trick-or-treating! It's more fun when you get older!

as long as they are doing what you suggest then i see no harm in them going door to door but their are teenagers who just can't keep their butts out of trouble on halloween night

Whenever you start to feel uncomfortable about going. Teenagers will be that way, if they feel uncomfortable they will stop, if they are still having fun, it is ok.
