I never had been a real stand up guy is someone comes buy and just like slaps me in the head I normally wont go over there and do it back. And in football aggressiveness is a key thing. And if i had better aggressiveness i will do better and my coach will wanna play me more. I am a linebacker and I also wanna know how to get rid of blockers when i am gonna tackle someone because when im going and the blocker comes he'll just hit me and i'll go down.

Speed,Power,Leverage. Don't be intimidated be the intimidator. As a linebacker you are the man. Ever been hit by a lineman after or while he's blocking you. Rips and swims can get you lose from a block but can also get your forearm or fist into a gut or an elbow into an opponents kidneys. Power will help on the leverage, bulldozing those lineman or tossing them aside. Speed kills though, you can't be blocked if u can't be caught. Work on your speed and power on your own to get better. Find a offensive lineman on your team whose skills are superior to yours and have him help you on technique. But if you can't get the aggressiveness going all the skills won't help you.

I've seen running backs stick with the blocker no matter what. Go for the blocker's legs waist with your shoulder or hands (don't hold)right from the start and closest to the line as possible (so the blocker can't get any momentum). Basically you end up plugging that hole which is your job. Now the running back will need to find a new hole and without a blocker. It would be up to somebody else in the plug play to actually tackle the back. Like I said before some back stick with that blocker even if the blocker can't go anywhere. The offensive line will break down and the back might actually lose yards on the play.

First off, to be a linebacker you must be agressive. No questions asked. That said I play the defensive line and the key to shedding blocks is to get low and keep your arms extended. The goal for the offensive lineman is to get you in close so he can hold and whatnot without the ref seeing it. If you get your arms extended he can't get inside you well and you should be able to shed the block (using a rip, swim, pure strength, whatever) and make more tackles.

Good luck and do well. HIT SOMEBODY.
